Alan Cobb was the National Director of State Operations for Americans for Prosperity. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of the Kansas Chapter of Americans for Prosperity.
Cobb grew up in Wichita, where he graduated from Wichita State University, then went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania and Washburn School of Law. He has been involved in Kansas politics for 15 years, where he has directed his own public affairs consulting firm, managed the Shallenburger for Governor campaign in 2002, directed Kansas Public Affairs for Koch Industries, and served as Deputy State Director for U.S. Senator Bob Dole and U.S. Senator Sheila Frahm in Kansas City, Kansas. Throughout his time in Kansas, his focus has been on increasing government transparency, limiting the size and scope of government, and ensuring accountability in government budgets.
He lives with his wife and three children in Topeka. He is a member of the Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership program, has served USD 437 School Foundation board, and was the 2006 Fellow at the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. He has also previously served as a board member of the Kansas Chamber and the Wichita Independent Business Association.
