The Alliance Defense Fund is a 501(c)(3) legal alliance based in Arizona. It was founded in 1994. James Dobson of Focus on the Family was one of the co-founders. The organization's stated purpose is to "aggressively defend religious liberty," which it often does through a direct litigation, with its own in-house legal team. It is generally regarded as advocating for conservative Christian goals. It has participated in 32 wins before the United States Supreme Court.

ADF's legal team is representing the plaintiffs in Lemons v. Bradbury, an Oregon-based lawsuit revolving around Oregon Ballot Measure 303 (2008).
