Coweta County School System is located in Coweta County, Georgia. The county seat of Coweta County is Newnan. Coweta County is home to 127,317 residents, according to the United States Census Bureau.[1] Coweta County School System is the 19th-largest school district in Georgia, serving 22,346 students students during the 2013-2014 school year.[2]

Demographics

Coweta County underperformed in comparison to the rest of Georgia in terms of higher education achievement and overperformed in terms of median household income in 2012. The United States Census Bureau found that 26.1 percent of Coweta County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 27.8 percent for Georgia as a whole. The median household income in Coweta County was $60,675 compared to $49,604 for the state of Georgia. The poverty rate in Coweta County was 11.8 percent compared to 17.4 percent for the entire state.[1]
