Groff ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Delaware. Groff sought the nomination on the Green Party ticket.[1] He was unopposed in the Green primary and moved on to the general election. He was defeated in the general election on November 6, 2012, by incumbent Tom Carper.[2]
