Angela Turner Lairy (b. July 2, 1971), known professionally as Angela Turner, is a Democratic member of the Mississippi State Senate, representing District 16. She was first elected to the chamber in the January 15, 2013, special election, which was held to replace her father, Bennie Turner.[1]

Elections for the office of Mississippi State Senate will take place in 2015. A primary election will be held on August 4, 2015, and the general election November 3, 2015. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[2]

Turner won election in the special election for District 16 of the Mississippi State Senate. The seat was vacant following Bennie Turner's (D) death on November 27, 2012.Turner defeated Kenny Fowler (I) in the special election, which took place on January 15. Candidates had until December 17, 2012 to file. Special elections in Mississippi are nonpartisan.[3][4][5][6]
