Two Arcadia School District Levy Addition measures were on the March 6, 2012 ballot in the Arcadia school district which is in Seneca County.

Both measures were defeated with the same results.

The first measure sought to add to the current school levy by a rate of $.54 per $100 of assessed value for a period of four years in order to ensure there is no operations deficit in the school district.

The second measure sought to add to the current school levy by a rate of $.37 per $100 of assessed value for a period of three years in order to avoid an operations deficit in the school district.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Question 1: Shall a levy renewing an existing levy be imposed by the Arcadia Local School District for the purpose of AVOIDING AN OPERATING DEFICIT in the sum of $440,000 and a levy of taxes to be made outside of the ten-mill limitation estimated by the county auditor to average 5.4 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.54 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of four (4) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013?

Question 2: Shall a levy renewing an existing levy be imposed by the Arcadia Local School District for the purpose of AVOIDING AN OPERATING DEFICIT in the sum of $305,000 and a levy of taxes to be made outside of the ten-mill limitation estimated by the county auditor to average 3.71 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to thirty-seven cents ($0.37) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of three (3) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013?[3]
