The Arizona Department of Public Schools Amendment, also known as Proposition 3, was on the September 29, 1953 ballot in Arizona as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have created a Department of Public Schools in lieu of the State Board of Education.[1]
