PHOENIX, Arizona: Arizona legislature missed the deadline for Governor Jan Brewer's sales tax increase to appear on the November 3, 2009 ballot. Despite the missed deadline, election officials may provide leniency if possible.

Bob Burns, senate president, stated that he hoped for floor votes to be held soon, then would send the sales tax increase to the Arizona House of Representatives in order for them to review and revise the plan. According to Burns: "That's what we are hoping to be able to do, but (we are) not 100 percent clear on that at this point,"[1]
