Ashley Skellie was a 2011 Republican candidate for District 48 of the Mississippi State Senate.

Skellie has worked as a public relations and political consultant, project manager, and the Director of Public Affairs of the Mississippi Gaming Commission. She holds a BA from the University of Southern Mississippi and an MEd from William Carey College.[1]

Skellie was defeated in the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 48. She ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. Incumbent Democrat Deborah Dawkins also ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. Skellie lost to Dawkins in the general election on November 8, 2011.[2]
