An Atlas Township Fire Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Atlas, which is in Genesee County.

This measure sought to renew and increase the current fire levy to one set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire department services in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Shall the expired previous voted increases in the tax limitations imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Atlas Township, of 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value), reduced to .99780 mills ($.99 per $1,000 of taxable value) by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at and increased up to the original voted 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for 5 years, 2012 through 2016, inclusive, for Fire Department Services, raising an estimated $264,729.00 in the first year the millage is levied.[3]
