Question on the ballot:
Shall the city amend the city charter’s
municipal court provisions by requiring the court to be
established by city ordinance?
Currently, the City Charter names the
municipal judge as a city officer and requires a
municipal court be established and operated in
a specific manner for particular offenses and/or
crimes. Adoption of this amendment eliminates the
requirements found in the charter and instead places
the responsibility for establishing a municipal court
and specifying its powers with the City Council via
