Nick Katers is the Editor of Ballotpedia's state-level content including state executive offices, legislatures, ballot measures and courts. He previously served as Project Director for the State Executives Project.

Katers joined Ballotpedia in April 2013 as an Assistant Staff Writer working on state legislative profiles. He later became a Staff Writer and Associate Project Director for the School Board Elections Project.

Katers grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He earned a B.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and an M.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to joining Ballotpedia, Katers taught American history at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. He also worked as a freelance writer and editor.
