Barry Welsh was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 6th Congressional District of Indiana.

While Welsh indicated an intent to run, he never officially filed to run in 2012.

Biography

Welsh was born in Rushville, Indiana and raised in Spiceland, Indiana.[1]

Welsh has been pastor at the Laurel United Methodist Church since 1998.[1]

Welsh was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Indiana's 6th District. Welsh sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.[2] Welsh would have Brad Bookout, Jim Crone, Dan Bolling, George Holland and Susan Hall Heitzman in the Democratic primary. Candidates Don Bates, Jr., Bill Frazier, Travis Hankins, Luke Messer, Joseph Van Wye, and Joe Sizemore are running in the Republican primary. Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of February 24, 2012. The primary elections took place on May 8, 2012.

Personal

Welsh lives with his wife Sherri and their four daughters, in Connersville, Indiana.[1]
