Two Beaverdam & Bluffton Village Electrical Aggregation Questions were on the March 6, 2012 ballot in the villages of Beaverdam and Bluffton which are in Allen County.

Both measures were approved
Beaverdam Measure

  • YES: 50 (72.46%) Approveda
  • NO: 19 (27.54%)

Bluffton Measure

  • YES: 645 (76.69%) Approveda
  • NO: 196 (23.31%)[1]

Both measures sought to allow village officials to aggregate electricity for residents who wanted to opt into the program, the goal would be to obtain lower rates for those who participate.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Village of Bluffton have the authority to aggregate the retail electric loads located in the Village of Bluffton, and for that purpose, enter into service agreements to facilitate for those loads the sale and purchase of electricity, such aggregation to occur automatically except where any person elects to opt out?[3]
