The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Cody Horlacher defeated Scott Johnson and Bill Lurvey in the Republican primary. Ben Bourdo (R) was removed from the ballot before the primary. Horlacher was unopposed in the general election, and was elected to the seat.
