Bernice Mathews (b. November 12, 1933) is a former Democratic member of the Nevada State Senate. She represented the Washoe 1 District from 1994 to 2010. State term limits disqualified her from re-election in 2010.

Mathews is a former City Councilwoman for Reno City Council.

Mathews earned her BSN from the University of Nevada, Reno. She went on to receive her MEd in Administration of Higher Education from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Mathews is currently a small business owner. She is also Director of Health Science-Nursing (Emeritus). Mathews has seven children.
