Robert Britt is the director of schools for Blount County Schools. He has served in this role since July 2009. Britt was hired as assistant principal in 1994 and as principal of Capenters Middle School in 2001. Britt earned his bachelor's degree from Shenandoah University, his master's degree from the University of Tennessee and a second master's degree from Lincoln Memorial University.[6]

Academic performance

The Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program, or TCAP, is a set of statewide assessments given in Tennessee to measure students' skills and progress. Students in grades 3-8 take the Achievement Test, and high school students take End of Course exams for various subjects. Student results are categorized as below basic, basic, proficient or advanced. Students that are proficient or advanced are commmonly considered to be at or above grade level.[11]
