A Bradenton City Runoff Election Charter Amendment measure was on the August 14, 2012 ballot in the city of Bradenton, which is in Manatee County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 4,278 (69.61%)Approveda
  • NO 1,867 (30.38%)[1]

This measure sought to amend the city charter so that there would not be any need for runoff elections. If no candidates in a race got more than 50 percent then the candidate with the most votes would be declared the winner. City officials cited expensive runoff election costs as the main reason behind eliminating the elections.[2]
