Campaign themes

Carmack's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Property Taxes

  • Excerpt: "Love 'em or hate 'em, we have some of the highest property taxes in the nation. The question of how high property taxes should be, can only be answered when we understand the needs of our district, and the best way to meet those needs."

  • Excerpt: "I believe that our entrepreneurs and hard working men and women create jobs better than politicians do. So as your Representative, I will fight to cultivate a businesses-friendly climate where entrepreneurs tell politicians how they will run their company, and not the other way around."

  • Excerpt: "I will work with our local schools and their boards to find strategic solutions that help us increase the quality of education for every child. Above all the hype surrounding education, we must not forget that our goal is the advancement of knowledge in our youth."

  • Excerpt: "I want to preserve our precious resources but it's hard for one to care so much when he cannot feed his family."

Public Safety

  • Excerpt: "As your representative, I will work hard for our public officers, ensuring them and their families that their risk is reduced because their legislator supports the work they do."
