Brenda Spiess, Jeff Bell and Rebecca Berger recall, Morenci, Michigan (2014)
Recall proponent arguments
Recall organizer and former council member Everett Cool, II charged Spiess, Bell and Berger with "incompetent placement of police department leadership." Cool further alleged that the targeted officials "have not been acting in the best interests of the community or the police department with their votes over the past several months, and that they placed a union officer in charge of union subordinates."

Cool filed petition language with the Lawrence County Clerk's Office on April 4, 2014. A clarity hearing was scheduled for April 16, 2014. The Lenawee County Election Commission voted 3-0 to reject the language. Shortly thereafter, Cool abandoned the recall effort. "If I can't get anybody to step forward and write letters to the editor and make intelligent commentary and co-sponsor the petition with me, then there's no point in moving forward. This is not something you do yourself," Cool said.
