The question on the ballot:

Shall the City of Bronson establish an annual special assessment, pursuant to Public Act 33 of 1951, MCL 41.801, et seq. The special assessment shall be levied only for the purposes of the purchase of fire protection equipment. The special assessment shall be set annually by the City Council, in an amount not to exceed 1 mill. A special assessment of 1 mill would raise the sum of $36,973?[3]
