There was a Buena Vista Annexation Repeal Measure on the April 6 ballot in Chaffee County for voters int he town of Buena Vista.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 375
  • NO 437 Defeatedd[1]

This measure asked voters if they wanted to repeal the annexation of the Village at Cottonwood Meadows. The question asked whether or not Ordinance 8 should be repealed, if it had been approved then the village would no longer be within the town. Voters repealed the annexation in 2008 but it was again asked for by a developer so the question appears again on a ballot.[2] An injunction to stop this vote had occurred, a resident wanted a judge to rule on whether or not a citizens initiative is valid in regards to this annexation. The resident who filed the injunction believed that many of the signatures collected were not valid. County judge noted that he would make a decision on the issue before the April 6 election.[3]
