A Bureau Township Bridge Levy Increase measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the township of Bureau which is in Bureau County.

This measure sought to increase the current road district property tax to a rate of .25 percent for a further ten years in order to help pay for the construction and repair of bridges, drainage systems and roads in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the present maximum rate of .05% of the value, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue, on the taxable property of the Bureau Township Road District for the purpose of constructing or repairing bridges, culverts, drainage structures or grade separations, including approaches thereto, at the joint expense of Bureau County and the Bureau Township Road District and obtaining aid from Bureau County as provided for in section 6-508 of the Illinois Highway Code be increased to a maximum rate of .25% on such taxable property for a period of ten (10) years, beginning in the year 2011 and continuing through and including the year 2020?[3]
