This measure sought to increase the current school levy to a rate of $3.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years which would go towards the district's sinking fund which is used to help pay for building facility repairs as needed.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Camden-Frontier School, Hillsdale and Branch Counties, Michigan, be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy 3.5 mills ($3.50 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 5 years, 2011 to 2015, inclusive, for sinking fund purposes to be used for the construction or repair of, school buildings and all other purposes authorized by law (3.4772 mills of the above is a renewal of millage for building and site sinking fund purposes which expired with the 2010 tax levy and .0228 mill is to restore millage for the same purpose lost as a result of the reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963); the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2011 is approximately $2,100,090?[3]
