A Carp Lake Township Road Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Carp Lake, which is in Emmet County.

This measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for road construction and maintenance costs in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the previously voted increase in the 15 mill tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on General Ad Valorem taxes within Carp Lake Township be renewed at 1.00 mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) a period of four (4) years 2012 through 2015, inclusive for the purpose of road construction and road maintenance; and shall the township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year of levy an estimated $36,221.00.[3]
