This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $46.4 million in order to help build a new high school in the district as well as make upgrades and improvements to other school facilities. To pay for this bond, a levy of $.99 per $1,000 of assessed property value would have been added to residents current tax rate as well. The official information released by the school district noted that the current buildings in the district are out of date and do not meet current standards.
