A proposition for a Cemetery District Creation was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in Asotin County.

The Board of Commissioners for Asotin county sought to form a cemetery district within the county, following previously set rules on maintaining and operating a cemetery in the district. This will also enable the district to levy a property tax not to exceed 11.25 cents.

The ballot read:

"The Board of Commissioners of Asotin County has passed a resolution regarding formation of a Cemetery District for all of Asotin County. This measure would create a cemetery district in Asotin County pursuant to RCW 68.25.185 for maintenance and operations of cemeteries approved to be in the district. The district would be authorized to levy a property tax not to exceed 11.25 cents per thousand dollars of assessed value beginning in 2010. Shall a cemetery district, to be known as Asotin County Cemetery District Number One, with the power to levy property tax, be created in Asotin County?"[2]
