Former candidate for
U.S. Senate, Kansas
Chad Taylor was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. Senate from Kansas.[1][2] He won the nomination in the Democratic primary on August 5, 2014, but withdrew on September 3, 2014.[3][4] Secretary of State Kris Kobach then determined that, based on Kansas election law, Taylor would remain on the general election ballot in November because he failed to declare that he would be unable to perform the job if elected.[5] Taylor brought suit, and the Kansas Supreme Court overturned Kobach's decision on September 18, 2014. Taylor did not appear on the November ballot.[6]
