Charles E. Williams is a judge of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in Sarasota County, Florida. He was appointed to this position by then-Gov. Lawton Chiles on November 8, 1997 and took office in January of 1998. His current term expires in January of 2019.[1][2][3][4]


Williams was born in Durham, N.C. on September 17, 1957. He received his B.S. degree from Howard University in 1979 and his J.D. degree from the University of Florida in 1982.[2][5]


Williams worked for the Office of the State Attorney and the Office of the Public Defender prior to joining the circuit court in 1998.[5]

2012 election

Williams was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[6]
