Chesterfield, German & Amboy Township Fire Levy Renewals, 3 (March 2012)

Three Township Fire Levy Renewal measures were on the March 6, 2012 ballot in the townships of Chesterfield, German and Amboy which are in Fulton County.

All three measures were approved

The Chesterfield measure sought to renew the current fire levy which was set at a rate of $.07 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services and equipment maintenance costs in the township.

  • YES: 207 (72.13%) Approveda
  • NO: 81 (27.87%)

The German measure sought to renew the current fire levy which was set at a rate of $.05 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire equipment maintenance costs in the township.

  • YES: 1,267 (78.43%) Approveda
  • NO: 349 (21.57%)

The Amboy measure sought to renew the current fire levy which was set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire maintenance and operational costs in the township.[1]

  • YES: 408 (69.52%) Approveda
  • NO: 178 (30.48%)[2]

The question on the ballot:

Chesterfield measure A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Chesterfield Township for the purpose of fire protection including providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances, buildings, and sites therefore, at a rate not exceeding 0.7 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.07 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013[3]
