Chris McKenzie is the executive director of the League of California Cities and a spokesperson against California Proposition 98 (2008) and for California Proposition 99 (2008).

McKenzie is also on the board of California Statewide Communities Development Authority (CSCDA). In 2007, CSCDA issued about $4.2 billion in tax free bonds, making it the fifth largest debt issuer in the country.

Thoughts on initiative process

In December 2009, McKenzie opined on why his organization gets involved in ballot propositions: "We wish we didn't have to (spend so much), but if you don't, you become a victim, and your objective and goals become victim of the legislative process."[1]
