Campaign themes

Judy's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[2]

Educational decisions should be arrived at by the parents, teachers and the local school board, not dictated by unaccountable bureaucrats, un-committed politicians, and lucrative special interest. I am strongly opposed to Common Core or any other school standards or curriculum set that would offer our children to a national education bureaucracy.

Marriage & Family
The family unit is dependent upon the institution of marriage. The history of man has proven that the only functional family is that centered on the traditional bonds between man and woman.

I believe that life begins at conception, and the defense of Life (along with Liberty and Property) is one of the primary functions of government. It is unimaginable that the state would condone the murder of the most defenseless among us. I will fight to defend the lives of the unborn in the General Assembly.

Right to Bear Arms
As member of the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR), Gun Owners of America (GOA), and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), I am a staunch supporter of Americans right to defend themselves.[3]

Legislative scorecards are used to evaluate elected public officials based on voting record. Some scorecards are created by political advocacy groups with a focus on specific issues, while others are developed by newspapers and are broad in scope. Scorecards are meant to be used as a tool for voters to have a quick picture of whether their views align with a particular legislator's record.

Because scorecards can be specific to particular issues or general to a state’s legislative term, for example, each report should be considered on its own merits. Each entity that publishes these reports uses different methodologies and definitions for the terms used.

An overview for scorecards in all 50 states can be found on this page. To contribute to the list of Indiana scorecards, email suggestions to
