This measure extended the current term length for city council members from two to four years. If approved, the new term limits would affect the current members but would be implemented starting in 2013.
The following are election results for the measure:
|4 PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT (ORDINANCE NO. 304-2012) CITY OF CINCINNATI, Vote For 1|
Some council members stated that extending the terms to four years would allow members to focus on long term goals and not spend half their term campaigning.
Others stated that the extended term limits leads to less accountability for the members.
