City of Albany Elected Mayor, Measure Y (November 2008)
If Measure Y had been approved, it would have allowed for the direct election of the Mayor of Albany to a four-year term starting in 2012. It also would have set term limits on the elected position of mayor. The procedure for choosing a mayor in Albany at the time of the vote was for the city council to appoint mayors for one-year terms.
