City of Redlands Appointed City Treasurer, Measure B (November 2010)
Election results are from the San Bernardino County elections division as of November 24, 2010.
A simple majority vote was required for approval.
The ballot argument in favor of Measure B was signed by all the current members of the Redlands City Council.
They say, "As a safeguard of public funds, the city treasurer should be required to have specific qualifications related to finance. Presently not even a bachelor's degree is required."
Lorrie Poyzer, Roger W. Poyzer and Lee J. Poyzer signed the argument against Measure B.
They say, "The city treasurer should not be relegated to an appointed bureaucrat. The checks and balances of an elected city treasurer were important to the creators of our Constitution - they need to be maintained to assure good, honest government."
