City of Tulare Method of Electing City Council Members, Measure A (June 2012)
A City of Tulare Method of Electing City Council Members, Measure A ballot question was on the June 5, 2012 ballot for voters in the City of Tulare in Tulare County, where it was very narrowly approved.
The approval of Measure A means that the way that members of the Tulare City Council are elected will change. The city council has five members. Before the election, they were elected on an at-large basis. This meant that voters anywhere in the city could vote in the elections for all five city council members. Measure A, however, dictates that the city will be divided into five voting districts. Each of those voting districts will elect just one member of the city council.

The question on the ballot:
|MEASURE A: "Shall the City Charter (Sections 4,5,9 & 10) be amended to change the election process for the five City Council members so each is elected from a separate district in which they reside rather than on an at-large basis?"|
