A Clatsop County Fairground Levy Renewal measure was on the May 18, 2010 ballot in Clatsop County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 6,089 (63.02%)Approveda
  • NO 3,573 (36.98%)[1]

This measure sought to renew the current $.07 property tax, per $1,000 of assessed value, for a further five years. The money generated from this levy will go towards the operational costs of maintaining the fairgrounds.[2] This renewal will actually be less than the current levy rate, the Fair Board was hoping that this will make the levy more passable. The previous levy had helped the fairgrounds with projects and renovations, this tax will continue those projects and keep the fairgrounds in top condition.[3] Proponents see the fair grounds as an integral part of the county and see the lower tax rate as an easy means to ensure the grounds' continued operation.[4]
