A Clay County School Property Tax Renewal measure was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in Clay County.

This measure was approved

This measure asked voters to continue the current 25 cent property tax that had been approved by the county commission in previous years. The commission was allowed to approve an increase property tax to benefit schools for two years, but then voter approval was needed to further continue the tax. The tax would remain in place for a further three years and would continue to generate near $2.5 million a year as it did at the time.[2] School superintendent noted that the continued tax was needed to help balance the school budget and manage state funding cuts. Ensuring school programs were still offered and jobs being secured was the main use of the money generated.[3]
