A Cleon Township Cemetery Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Cleon, which is in Manistee County.

This measure sought to renew the current cemetery levy which is set at a rate of $.25 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for cemetery maintenance and operational costs in the township. It was approved.

The question on the ballot:

Shall Cleon Township, Manistee County, Michigan renew the expired previous voted increases in the tax limitations imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution of 0.25 mills ($0.25 per $1,000 of taxable value), be renewed and levied for 5 years, 2012 through 2016 inclusive, for cemetery operating purposes; if approved, it is estimated that the revenue generated by this proposal in the first year the millage is levied would be $7,150.00?[1][2]
