Clyde Township Fire, Road & Ambulance Levy Renewals, 3 (August 2012)

Three Clyde Township Fire, Road & Ambulance Levy Renewal measures were on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Clyde, which is in Allegan County.

All three measures were approved

The first measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $2 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township.

The question on the ballot:

'Proposal I: Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Clyde Township be renewed at two mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of 2012 through 2015, inclusive, for purposes of fire protection within the Township; and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $97,729?

Proposal II: Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Clyde Township be renewed at two mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of 2012 through 2015, inclusive, for purposes of road improvements within the Township; and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $97,729?

Proposal III: Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Clyde Township be renewed at one-half mill (50 cents per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of 2012 through 2015, inclusive, for purposes of road improvements within the Township; and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $24, 432?[3]
