College Station ISD is located in College Station, Texas, which is also a county seat of Brazos County, Texas. According to the 2010 US Census, College Station is home to 93,857 residents.[1]


College Station outperformed the rest of Texas with regard to graduation rate, but under performed in regards to average household income and poverty rate in 2011. The graduation rate in College Station was 93.0% compared to 80.4% statewide. The US Census found that the average household income in College Station was $31,332 compared to $50,920 for Texas. College Station had a poverty rate of 36.4% in 2011, while Texas was 17.0%.[1]

The current superintendent of College Station Independent School District is Dr. Eddie Coulson, who was appointed by the board in 2006. Dr. Coulson received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and his Master’s and Doctorate of Education from Sam Houston State University. Prior to his role as superintendent, Dr. Coulson worked in CSISD as the deputy superintendent for curriculum and instruction and as the executive director for human resources. Before his employment in CSISD, Dr. Coulson worked in the Spring Independent School District as an administrator and teacher for 12 years. Dr. Coulson and his wife, Sally, have two children who have graduated from A&M Consolidated High School.[3]
