The Commerce & Labor Committee is a standing committee of the Washington State Senate.

Per Section V of the Senate Rules, committees of the Washington State Senate are appointed by the President of the Senate and confirmed by the senate.[1] Committees are responsible considering measures referred to them in the interest of the state.[2] The deliberations of committees considering a vote on any bill, resolution, or memorial must be open to the public.[3]

Function

The Senate Commerce and Labor Committee considers issues relating to the workers' compensation system, the unemployment insurance system, collective bargaining, regulation of professions (except for financial and health care professions), regulation and oversight of liquor, gambling, horse racing and the state lottery, and regulation of issues that impact consumers.
