HARTFORD Connecticut Democrats have retained their majorities in both the state senate and state house. According to unofficial results, Democrats won 22 of 36 Senate seats. They were also able to maintain their 99-52 majority in the House of Representatives.[1]

In addition, only one of four Democratic legislators targeted by a conservative Super PAC was defeated. Senators Steve Cassano, Edward Meyer, and Andrew Maynard survived the attacks.[1]

Senate Minority Leader John McKinney (R) said, "I feel very good about the race we ran. We had some great candidates."[1]
