A proposition for the Continuation of Sales Tax for County Public Transportation Authority was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in Asotin County.

The measure was approved.[1]

  • No: 1,322 (20.12%)

This proposition continued the sales tax that is already in place to help fund the Aston County Public Transportation Benefit Area for the next five years. The money collected from this tax helps to maintain the public transportation int he area, maintaining vehicles and capitol needs for the area.

Ballot summary

The ballot read:

"Shall the Authority of the Asotin County Public Transportation Benefit Area (PTBA) be authorized to continue the sales and use tax of two-tenths (2/10th) of one percent (1%) within Asotin County effective January 1, 2010. Said proposition shall expire at the end of a five (5) year period unless renewed by the vote of the people. The proceeds of which are to be used solely to fund the operation, maintenance, and capital needs of the public transportation system for Asotin County, all as provided in Resolution No. 09-03"[2]
