Crescent City Mandatory Health Voucher Prior to Addition of Fluoride to Water Supplies, Measure A (November 2012)
Measure A requires that before fluoride can be added to the city's water supply, any vendors that are seeking a contract to add it must provide toxicological reports, a list of contaminants and "proof that their product is safe and effective." Supporters of the measure believe that these conditions cannot be met and that therefore, fluoride will have to be removed from the city's water supply.
The victory on Measure A came two years after an effort to pass a similar measure, Measure A in November 2010, was defeated.

A group called "Crescent City Citizens for Safe Water, Yes on Measure A" led the campaign for a "yes" vote on Measure A. The group held a rally in September, where members held up signs with sayings such, "There is Poison in Your Tap Water" and "I thought we were supposed to drink water, NOT TOXIC WASTE."
Dale L. Bohling, a Crescent City resident, described his support for Measure A: "[it is a] mandate for the supplier of the hydrofluorosilicic acid to present a 'clean bill of health' for the substance, which is infused into the municipal water supply. No submission of the health voucher, no adding it to the water."
