Curtis Clements is the current seat holder of the Zone 2 position on the Rogers Public Schools Board of Education. He was re-elected in an unopposed race on September 17, 2013.

Biography

Curtis Clements was appointed to serve as the Zone 2 member of the Rogers Public Schools Board of Education on January 27, 2011. Clements is a graduate of Rogers High School and the father of two current Rogers School District students.[1]

Rogers Public Schools is a district located in northwest Arkansas in Benton County. The county seat is Bentonville. It is located northwest of the state capital, Little Rock. According to the 2010 Census, Rogers is home to 58,895 residents.[3]

Demographics

Rogers outperforms the rest of Arkansas when measured on the basis of median household income and percentage of residents living below the poverty level. Rogers performs worse than the rest of Arkansas based on the percentage of residents over the age of 25 with a high school diploma. The median household income in Rogers was $50,205 compared to $40,149 for the state of Arkansas. 38.2% of Little Rock residents aged 25 years and older attained a bachelor's degree compared to 27.1% in Arkansas. The US Census also showed the poverty rate in Rogers was 13.3%% compared to 18.4% for the entire state. The US Census also found that 77.2% of Rogers residents aged 25 years and older attained a high school degree compared to a 82.7% in Arkansas.[4]
