Cullinane won election in a special election for Massachusetts House of Representatives 12th Suffolk District. The seat was vacant following Linda Dorcena Forry's (D) election to the Massachusetts State Senate. A special election has been called for September 10, with a primary on August 13. Cullinane defeated Stephanie L. Everett and Marydith E. Tuitt in the August 13 Democratic primary and defeated two write-in Independent candidates in the special election, which took place on September 10.[1][2][3][4][5]
