Daniel Riina was a 2012 Libertarian Party candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of New York.

Riina has a B.A. from Hofstra University and currently works in his family's small business.[1]


Political philosophy

Riina says his "political philosophy revolves around liberty minded principles, a return to our Constitutional Republic roots, sound money and much smaller government, among other things."[1]

Campaign themes


Riina says that as a congressman, he would propose legislation to end the Federal Reserve.[1]

According to his website, Riina's campaign platform includes the following issues[2]:

  • Opposing abortion
  • Addressing the economy through:
    • Balancing the budget
    • Ending the Federal Reserve
    • Eliminating the income tax and IRS
  • Repealing the Affordable Care Act
