Bordering the Atlantic Ocean, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Delaware is the second smallest of the 50 United States. Divided into three counties, Delaware was one of The Thirteen Colonies, the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution and is aptly nicknamed “the First State.”
