Lennox attended Central Michigan University, where he studied political science and journalism. He previously served as drain commissioner for Cheboygan County.
Previous political experience
Lennox is a precinct delegate from Mullett Township and has been a delegate or alternate delegate to numerous state Republican conventions. In 2008, he was an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention.
On November 4, 2008, Lennox defeated 78-year-old incumbent John Pietrangelo to win a four-year term as drain commissioner.   He was only one of two Republicans in all of Michigan to defeat an incumbent Democrat in 2008. Lennox took office on January 1, 2009, and resigned on June 6, 2011.
